Generate random PINs for your ATM, phone, or lock.

Why use a random PIN?

Many people use predictable PINs like birth dates or simple sequences (1234, 0000). Our random PIN generator creates cryptographically secure digits that are much harder to guess.

How to use the PIN generator

  1. Choose a length: 4, 6 or 8 digits. Use the longest length your card, phone or lock accepts.
  2. Keep “No sequential numbers” on to reject runs like 1234 or 9876. Turn on “No repeating numbers” to also reject adjacent duplicates such as 1123.
  3. Press Generate Random PIN and copy the result. Memorise it, then clear your clipboard.

Why a random PIN matters

People choose PINs in very predictable ways. Studies of leaked PIN data have found that a small set of codes, such as 1234, 1111, 0000, years like 19xx and dates in DDMM or MMDD format, cover a large share of all PINs in use. A thief with three attempts at an ATM, or ten attempts on a phone, will try exactly those first.

A truly random PIN removes that advantage: each of the 10,000 possible four-digit codes is equally likely. This generator draws every digit from your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator and simply discards candidates that match the patterns you exclude.

How many combinations each length gives

LengthPossible PINsTypical use
4 digits10,000Bank cards, SIM cards, door keypads
6 digits1,000,000Phones, UPI apps, banking apps
8 digits100,000,000Safes, alarm systems, phones that allow it

Excluding sequences and repeats removes only a small fraction of codes, so it barely reduces the total while ruling out the codes attackers guess first.

PIN safety tips

  • Never use your birthday, year of birth, house number or the last digits of your phone number.
  • Use different PINs for your bank card and your phone.
  • Cover the keypad when entering a PIN in public.
  • Never write the PIN on or near the card itself.
  • Your bank will never ask for your PIN by phone, SMS or email.

Frequently asked questions

Is the PIN stored anywhere?

No. It is generated by JavaScript on your device and disappears when you leave the page.

Can I set this as my bank card PIN?

Yes. Most banks let you change your PIN at an ATM or in their app. Pick a random code here, memorise it, and set it through your bank's official channel.
