Terms of Use

Last updated: 25 October 2026

By using genpass.in (“GenPass”) you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1. The service

GenPass provides free browser-based tools for generating and checking passwords and for common developer tasks, along with educational articles. We may add, change or remove tools at any time.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use GenPass to break the law, to attack or gain unauthorised access to any system or account, to interfere with the site’s operation, or to scrape or overload it with automated requests.

3. Your responsibility

You are responsible for how you store and use the passwords and other output you generate. Keep important passwords in a reputable password manager and enable two-factor authentication where available. If you use the encrypted vault, you are responsible for remembering your master password. We cannot recover it.

4. No warranty

The tools and content are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. While we work hard to make them accurate and secure, we don’t guarantee that they are error-free or suitable for any particular purpose. Strength estimates and breach results are informational and are not a guarantee of security.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GenPass and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including loss of data or account access, arising from your use of the site.

6. Third-party services and links

Some features rely on third-party services (such as Have I Been Pwned), and the site may show third-party advertising. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites.

7. Intellectual property

The site design, text and code are owned by GenPass unless stated otherwise. The output you generate with the tools is yours to use freely. The passphrase wordlist is the EFF Large Wordlist, used under the Creative Commons Attribution licence.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
